Introduced by a well-known competitor as one of Asia’s ‘rock stars of design’, Chris founded Eight in 1993 from the corner of his living room, fresh off the plane at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak airport. 

An MBA in Finance, Chris also has a diverse background as a travelling photographer and reporter for windsurfing magazines, a radio show host, and an international athlete amongst others.
Since its inception, Eight has grown into one of Asia’s most renowned and respected branding and design firms (ranked #1 brand consultancy in 2015), and works internationally from France, to Japan, Sri-Lanka,and beyond. 

Having worked intimately with CEOs for well over 25 years with brands ranging from as Apple to Cathay Pacific, Chris has developed strong ties with renowned “captains of industry” globally. He is often called to provide guidance on big branding questions – articulating business purpose, launching and sunsetting brands in the context of mergers and acquisitions, rejuvenating tired brands, reorganising brand portfolios...etc.
Respected for his creative brain, aesthetic eye and strategic insights, Chris’s views are often sought after by leading individuals and families in Asia. Chris also serves as a board member for several companies, including property firm Odin in Japan.
Chris studied economics and finance under Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Minister of Industry then Finance Minister of France (1997-99). Chris is a genuine Norwegian viking (minus the roughest edges) raised in Sweden and France. He has three children. He is an avid adventure racer, often found scurrying up steep summits or paddling down swift-moving rivers in a kayak.
